A Lecture on News in Psychopharmacology

At the “Psychiatry Update 2019”, which took place on February 22 and 23 in Berlin and on March 15 and 16 in Mainz, I had the privilege to give a presentation on “Hot Topic: Psychopharmaka”. The lecture was given in German language (like the whole event series).

I covered the following topics:

• Ketamine and esketamine for treatment-resistant depression
• Psychedelics as emerging treatments for severe psychiatric disorders
• Long-term treatment with psychotropic drugs (especially antidepressants and antipsychotics)
• Cariprazine as treatment option for the negative symptoms of schizophrenia

My lecture in Mainz was videotaped. You can watch the video here for free! However, you have to fulfill two prerequisites:
