Finally: Germany has a New Schizophrenia Guideline

The German S3 guideline “Schizophrenia” was 13 years old, it dated back to 2006. After several years of hard work, the new guideline was published a few days ago, on March 15, 2019.Schizophrenia Guideline

An S3 guideline represents the highest methodological standards of guideline development. 38 professional societies contributed to the guideline, the society in charge was the German Association for Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics (DGPPN). The guideline was published after long and often controversial discussions among the experts from the disparate professional fields. In the end, it represents an excellent source of the current knowledge of the best care of patients with schizophrenia. The guideline is valid until March 31, 2023.
